We do not accept monetary donations.

Improve Your State does not solicit or accept financial contributions from the public. If you want to support our mission, keep your money and use what you have to make something better where you live.

A Different Kind of Donation

Give something your community can actually use.

Improve Your State is a charitable organization recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our mission is centered on voluntary community service, civic engagement, and helping people identify and address needs in the places around them.

We believe one of the best ways to support that mission is to direct your generosity into your own community. Instead of donating money to us, find something useful that needs to be done and contribute what you can.

The donation we value most Donate your time. Donate your effort. Donate your skills. Donate useful resources. Improve the community around you.
What You Can Give

Your community needs more than money.

Everyone has something they can contribute. A meaningful donation can be an hour of your time, a useful skill, a few supplies, or simply the willingness to notice a problem and do something constructive about it.

⏱

Donate Your Time

Spend an hour cleaning a shared space, helping a neighbor, supporting an organization, or completing another useful community project.

🛠

Donate Your Skills

Use the abilities you already have to help others or contribute to a project where those skills can make a practical difference.

📦

Donate Resources

When appropriate, provide useful supplies or needed items directly to a community project or organization that has confirmed a need for them.

❤

Donate Your Effort

Notice something that could be better, make a realistic plan, and put in the effort needed to leave your community a little better than you found it.

Our Charitable Mission

Community improvement should begin in the community.

Improve Your State exists to encourage and facilitate voluntary community service and civic engagement and to provide people with information, guidance, and resources that help them identify, plan, perform, and document useful community projects.

That is why our approach to donations is intentionally different. We would rather see your available resources used to buy cleanup supplies, collect items that a local organization actually needs, help someone in your neighborhood, or support another worthwhile project directly.
